Did you know that pet ownership can be healthy for you?
In fact, recent studies indicate that senior citizens with pets enjoy a more active, healthier life than those without.
Research has also shown that pet owners endure emotional crises better than the non pet-owning public.
And believe it or not, the one-year survival rates after discharge from
coronary care units are greater for pet-owning patients than non-pet owners,
and pet owners in general seem to have fewer minor health problems as well.
Finally, if you like hugging and stroking your pet, keep it up–scientific
studies have shown a link between petting and talking to pets and decreased
blood pressure!
