A native of Centre County, Dr. Bob Rider received his B.S. in Dairy and Animal
Science from Penn State University in 1991 and graduated with honors from
the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.Dr. Rider has been elected to several honors societies, including Alpha Zeta, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Zeta and Gamma Sigma Delta. He received academic achievement and performance awards from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Hills Nutrition. Dr. Rider performs many complicated surgical procedures including: fracture repair (bone plating, interlocking nail, external fixation), lumbar intervertebral disk surgery and laryngeal paralysis surgery. In addition, he performs arthroscopic joint surgery for injured knees, elbows and shoulders. Dr. Rider currently resides in Pennsylvania Furnace with his wife Jen, their dog Morgan and 2 cats (Chessie and Cleo). Special interests include surgery (specifically orthopedics), ultrasound, endoscopy and clinical pathology. Other interests include golf, softball, outdoor activities and the blacksmith arts. | ||||||||||
